Happy Independence Day
The garlic scapes have all been cut, one batch of strawberry jam has been made, the perennial borders are a riot of Evening Primrose yellow, and the Mock Orange is bursting with blooms. What could be better than this?!

Nice web site Jessyca! Are you having a cookout on Field Road today? I can imagine sitting in your yard soaking in summer in Maine.
Thanks, Kathleen!
We didn’t do the almost annual bbq on Field Road yesterday – it’s become something of an every other or every third year kind of event in recent years. I do sort of miss doing them, though, and definitely miss having you and Mike in the neighborhood to join us. Hope you had a good 4th!
Hi Jessyca,
Beautiful pictures of summer’s bounty…..just beginning!
Have you ever made pesto with garlic scapes??
Yummmmmmmmy!!!
Enjoy!
Hey Lori:
I’ve been thinking of you – I hope your show down east has gone well.
And, yes, I just for the first time made pesto with garlic scapes – no basil, just the scapes and parsely along with all the rest. It is yummmy!
